Beauty Resolutions You Should Add to Your List in 2019

Whenever another year starts, some of us make a list of things that we promise we would do and/or never do. If you’re like me, then you probably have quite a short list. Before the first quarter of 2019 ends, let’s take time to reassess and see if we can add some more resolutions – Let’s say, beauty resolutions – to our list.

Whether it’s about makeup or skincare or hair care, below you will find some beauty resolutions you should add to your list in 2019:

Make yourself presentable by doing your hair and makeup

Whether you’re a student, a housewife, or a working individual, it is pretty important to take care of your appearance. Even if you feel like you never have enough time to do them, you should stop and consider indulging yourself a little sometimes.

You’ve worked hard, and you definitely deserve to be happy and feel good about how you look. If you think that you don’t have time to do it in the morning, then you can sometimes wake up early so that you can still have time to put on some lipstick and maybe some blush. Maybe you’ll even surprise yourself and see how taking care of yourself can boost your confidence.

Start a routine skin care regimen

If there’s one resolution that you definitely have to make, then this should be the one. More important than applying makeup and doing your hair, the most important thing you should be doing is taking care of your skin. After all, healthy skin is the most beautiful of all.

When a person has healthy skin, her natural glow shows through and makes her look younger and fresher, regardless of age. So, invest in quality skin care products and make sure to use them on a daily basis. If you’re a beginner, you can start with basics: cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Beyond the basics, you can then add in exfoliators, serums, and peels.

Designate two days per week as “makeup-free” day

When you wear makeup every day, or when you wear a lot of it, there is a chance that it could lead to acne problems since makeup usually clogs the pores. So, let your skin breathe and stay away from makeup for at least two days per week.

You might think that it isn’t helping, but it does make a huge difference. In addition, you can use some skincare beauty product, such as peels or masks, on days that you don’t wear makeup; it really helps. 

Remember to always remove your makeup before you go to bed

This is probably something that you’re doing most of the time. You have got to stop. Not only is it unhealthy for your skin, but you can also develop an infection.

Even if you’re feeling lazy and don’t have the energy to wash your face, you still have to do it. If needed, drag yourself toward the bathroom and properly wash your face. Your skin will thank you for it.

Never hesitate to ask help from a makeup professional

If you want to learn how to properly apply makeup and take care of your skin, then this is definitely the year to do it. Don’t procrastinate. Look for a makeup artist near your neighborhood and ask if she can give you lessons.

As a friendly tip, one of the cool ways that you can try products and techniques specifically targeted toward your face and eye shape is through taking professional lessons.

Now, I know that makeup isn’t for everyone. I am also not saying that all women should make these beauty resolutions in 2019. Certain people do things at their own pace. However, if you are interested right now, then these are ideas that I think you should definitely consider this year.
