Repair damage using avocado

Avocados are quite rich in essential minerals, vitamins, and fatty acids that will aid in restoring vitality and luster to your dry and damaged hair. Plus, you probably have one in your kitchen right now.

Prepare a mashed avocado, preferably ripe, and combine it with one whole egg. Then, apply the avocado-egg mixture onto wet hair. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly; making sure that there is no avocado-egg mixture left on your hair. For best results, do this procedure at least once a week.

Massage your hair in the butter

Another great home remedy that is worth trying is massaging your hair in butter. If you have dry and brittle hair, you can make your hair glossy or shiny with just a small amount of butter.

Massage butter into dry hair and then cover it with a shower cap. Leave it on for about 30 minutes. After that, take off the shower cap, shampoo as usual, and then rinse until all the butter is out of your hair.

Condition with olive oil or coconut oil

A surprising home remedy for dry and damaged hair is olive oil, which aids in softening and strengthening hair as it penetrates through the hair shaft and preserves moisture in it.

In order to revitalize your hair and preserve its moisture, warm up about half a cup of olive oil – Remember not to boil it – and rub it into your hair. Make sure that you cover your hair with a plastic bag or shower cap and wrap it in a towel. For best results, leave the olive oil on your hair for at least 45 minutes. After that, shampoo your hair as usual and rinse thoroughly.

As an alternative, you can also use coconut oil instead of olive oil. Coconut oil can also work wonders for dry and damaged hair. Plus, it works really well on thick and heavy hair. Start by dampening your hair with water and thoroughly coating it with coconut oil. Then, cover your hair with a plastic bag or shower cap and then wrap it further using a thick warm towel. Now, doing this will ensure effective deep conditioning of the hair. Then don’t forget to thoroughly rinse the oil out of your hair by following it up with shampoo. By the way, for those who are allergic or don’t like coconut oil, you can try jojoba oil instead.

Rinse with tea

If you think that tea is only meant for drinking, then you should probably think again. Tea can also be used to make your dry hair have its natural shine back. Take a quart of warm tea, preferably unsweetened, and use it as a final rinse after you’re done shampooing your hair.

If you want to enhance the color of your hair, then you could also use tea as a natural hair color enhancer. Chamomile tea works best for blondes, while black tea is great for brunettes and people with dark-colored hair.
