In this digital age, we are seeing a lot of progress in terms of technology, which includes home technology.
At the CES 2019, which is the biggest technology show in the world, a number of interesting smart home technologies and digital trends were showcased. Here are some smart home technology trends from CES 2019 that will surely make a big splash this year:
More of Alexa and Google Assistance
It was only a few years ago when Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant was introduced to the public. They are both considered remarkable technologies that made a huge wave in the technology industry back then. It was amazing.
In 2019, we’ll be seeing more from Alexa and Google Assistant. Amazon made several announcements, which involves its Amazon Key entry service. Google, on the other hand, made a bigger presence this year. Expect to experience more of Alexa and Google Assistant on various levels, whether it may be on TV to toilets to toys.
Do you still have a video camera that records every activity at your front door? Then you’re going to like what CES 2019 has in store for you in terms of home security.
In 2019, we will be seeing a lot of video doorbells. We will also see more video cameras with sleeker and higher resolution. Other things that will become a reality this year are drone security guards and AI-powered home monitoring devices. Who knows, we might even see smart locks being introduced in the market.
A New Level of Smart Appliances
At CES 2019, we saw a lot of innovation in terms of smart home appliances. We saw a number of computer screens that are embedded in home appliances. For instance, LG featuredits Instaview fridge that comes with a see-through glass door, a computer screen, and built-in Amazon Alexa speakers.
GE, on the other hand, has a slightly different idea. They built a stove with a screen and a vent above it. Of course, there are plent of other companies that are innovating ideas of their own when it comes to smart home appliances.
The real icing on top of the cake, however, are the designs and inventions from companies such as Innit, Yummly, and Side Chef that provides recipes to its users based only from the ingredients that are found in the fridge, which means you don’t have to go to the grocery store just to prepare dinner.
While we are seeing more innovative ideas in terms of smart appliances and home security, there is also a surprising new trend that we’ve witnessed at CES 2019: baby tech. As a matter of fact, we are expecting to see various baby technologies like baby monitors and wearables this 2019.
Some of the other baby tech stuff that we will be seeing in 2019 are food intake monitors, fertility trackers, and smart breast pumps, among many others. Experts believe that the baby tech industry is only going to grow over the next few years.
With this much interesting technologies showcased at CES 2019, we’ll be expecting more from CES 2020.
