2018 is arguably one of the best years for the beauty industry. Some people would even say that it was a game-changing year. We’ve seen the likes of new classic scents from our favorite brands such as Dior and Chanel. We’ve also seen lots of glitters, golden glows, and gadget upgrades. There were even some peculiar ones like fishtail brows and rainbow brows.
Seeing all of that makes you wonder what’s in store for the beauty industry in 2019. According to some experts, here are some of the major beauty trends they predict will be a big hit in 2019:
Flaunting your “inner glow”
In 2019, heavily applied makeup is becoming a thing of the past. That is to say, gone are the days of extra-full coverage foundations with lots of concealers and defined counter lines.
In its place, beauty and makeup experts are now paying more attention to glowy, or even glossy, cosmetics that are applied with a light hand. This can easily be achieved by making use of light layers of light to medium coverage products using a synthetic brush. By doing so, it will make cream products easier to sheer out and even ensures that the tinge of the natural skin will be able to show through.
Showing off your natural brows
We’ve seen a lot of crazy, as well as extremely detailed, eyebrow styling trends back in 2018. You will have to say goodbye to them, however, since 2019 is looking at a more naturally-styled eyebrow look.
Chris Lanston, a celebrity makeup artist, says to “just comb them, carefully fill them in, and apply clear mascara in order to set them.” Another makeup expert suggests using serums, brow tints, and precision brow pencils to achieve the perfect brow and shape.
Plenty of face masks
Face masks have been pretty popular for a while, and it won’t be any different in 2019. If you’re pretty new with using face masks, here are some of the best face masks that you can try: Fresh Umbrian Clay Pore Purifying Face Mask, Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque, and Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask.
I guess what makes them so popular is that they gently remove dead skin, remove excess oils, hydrate skin, and improve the appearance of pores, all in one package. I do hope that this budding trend continues to steer people’s attention toward self-care.
Milder hair colors
From bolder hair colors – including dirty blonde, rose gold, and cobalt blue – in 2018, the hair color trends for 2019 is considered to be a bit milder. Some of them are strawberry honey, mushroom brown, creamy blonde, and jet black.
“Fashion colors usually attach themselves better when applied to milder and light colors,” says Cynthia Diersen, a haircare creative artist. So, in 2019, embrace the beauty in mild hair colors and let your imagination run wild with countless possibilities.
Flushed cheeks will definitely be a big thing in 2019. It’s not just a little pop of color to the cheeks, but it will be lots of it. From rosy to flushed, blush will also be used as an alternative eye shadow, to give emphasis, and to add color to the face.
Crystals in Skin Care
In 2019, people will be seeing a new trend going on in the beauty industry: the use of crystals as part of beauty treatments. According to Elizabeth Trattner, who is a green beauty expert and doctor of Chinese and integrative medicine, “One of the most popular crystals that you will be seeing in this year is quartz.”
